Mark Robert Bruni

Mark R. Bruni, 54, of Milford  was born in Natick,MA on June 10, 1964. He was born with a congenital heart defect; but that never stopped him from living life to the fullest! There were countless times, from the time he was born to the present, where he defied the odds setout by his medical team at Mass General Hospital- setting new standards for children who are born with congenital heart defects today and as they grow into adulthood!

Sadly, Mark's long time battle with his illness ended on June 29, 2018. He left peacefully and exactly how he planned and wanted; at home in Milford with his family by his side. He now joins his father Buzz, sister Tina, and sister in law Vickie in eternal life, continuing to watch over his family from above.

Mark was very strong, never allowing his chronic illness to define him. He worked at Genzyme in Framingham, MA for many years. After taking an early retirement from Genzyme, he fulfilled his life long dream of becoming a business owner with the opening of his coin shop; Minute Man Coins & More on Exchange St. in Milford. This was so much more than a business for Mark; it was his passion! He truly enjoyed talking, joking and getting to know each of his many long time customers on a personal level.

Outside of his work life, Mark loved the ocean and salt air, spending countless summers on Cape Cod Bay fishing for Stripers and Blue Fish. He cherished the yearly vacations spent down on Cape Cod every summer with his family.

Mark will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves behind his wife of 29 years Mary (Longworth) Bruni, his adoring son and daughter Nicholas Bruni and Taylor Bruni, his mother Marsha Whittier, 2 sisters Camilla Carter and Robin Tarani, a brother Jeffrey Bruni and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews and many close friends.

Mark's calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 5 from 5 to 8:pm in the Watson Colonial Funeral Home, 24 Congress St. Milford. Cremation will follow. A memorial mass for Mark will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at 5:pm in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 East Main St. Milford, MA, 01757.
