Jean M. (Stapleton) Hallfelder, 90, formerly of Bellingham died on January 9 at Countryside Healthcare in Milford. She was the wife of the late Alfred Hallfelder. They had been married for forty seven years.
She was born in Boston; daughter of the late Michael and Lillian (Logue) Stapleton. She was raised and educated in South Boston.
Jean had been employed as an emergency room secretary at Carney Hospital in Boston for thirty five years before her retirement in 1997. She was an avid reader and loved cooking, gardening and painting.
Jean is survived by her children, Jeannie Elphick of Concord, New Hampshire, Kathy Donahue and her husband Stephen of Uxbridge, Diane Balliro and her husband Anthony of Millville and David Hallfelder and his wife Elizabeth of Uxbridge, five grandchildren, Megan Elphick, Christopher Elphick, Ryan Hallfelder, Gavin Hallfelder and Malorie Hallfelder, two great grandchildren Anna Elphick and Colin Elphick. She was predeceased by her son in law, Alan Elphick and two sisters Lillian Jankun and Margaret Smith.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 14 at 10:am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 East Main St. Milford. Burial will follow in St.Jean the Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. There are no calling hours.
