Hopedale:

Dorothy M. (Wilkinson) Bentley, 80, of Hopedale passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Maples Nursing & Rehabilitation center in Wrentham, MA.

Dottie was born on Friday the 13th of May, 1938 in Milford, MA; daughter of the late William & Mary (Kellett) Wilkinson. She was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School, class of 1955 and obtained her LPN from Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA. In 1972 she completed the nursing program at Framingham Union Hospital and began a long, fruitful career as an RN. Dottie retired at 70 years old.

Known for her gift of gab and patriotic ensemble, Dottie enjoyed cruising in her convertible with the top down to the beaces of Hull, MA. She also enjoyed blue grass music and had a fondness for thrift stores. Dottie was passionate about genealogy and extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She was also a friend of Bill W. for over 30 years and viewed his family as her own.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, James Bentley of Oklahoma and Timothy Bentley of California, a daughter Patricia Bentley of Milford, a daughter-in-law Dianne Altieri-Bentley of Milford, 7 grandchildren, Michael Brown of Milford, Caitlin Bentley of Milford, Philip Covino of Framingham, Iris Bentley of Milford, James Bentley of  Worcester, Timma Bentley of California and Dylan Greiter of Chicopee, a brother William Wilkinson of Hull, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by a son Thomas Bentley and her former husband Walter Bentley.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Maples Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care of Dorothy during her stay there.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 16 from 5 to 8:pm in the Watson Colonial Funeral Home, 24 Congress St. Milford. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 10:am in the funeral home. burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Ave, Fi 17, Chicago, IL. 60601 or the charity of choice.
