Barbara E. (Hackenson) White, 52, of Upton passed away on December 24 at Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Milford; daughter of the late Arthur & Catherine (Drugan) Hackenson. She was raised in Upton and was a member of Upton Bloomer Girls and Girl Scouts. Barbara was a 1984 graduate of Nipmuc Regional High School in Mendon. Following graduation she attended Salem State College. In 1992 she began a 27 year management career at Ball Foster, currently known as the Ardagh Group.

Barbara was fond of swimming, reading, the beach,traveling, crocheting, flea markets and spending time with her family and friends. She had a love for animals, especially her dogs.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Cyndi White of Upton, two brothers: Edward Hackenson of Webster and Gary Hackenson of Upton, a sister Judy Tona of Boynton Beach, Florida. She is also survived by her loving companion of 25 years, Bill Slade of Upton and his children: Jacqui Paquette of Bismark, North Dakota and Carl Ernst of Mendon along with his three grandchildren: Paityn, Owen and Nicole.

Her funeral will take place on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 7:00pm in the Watson Colonial Funeral Home, 24 Congress Street in Milford. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the group or charity of your choice. Her family asks that you show kindness to all in her memory.
