Ronald Lee Cole

Milford:

Ronald L. Cole, 78, of Milford passed peacefully at home on June 21 three days before his 79th birthday. He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Stowell) Cole and the father of Ronald A. Cole.

He was born in Rutland, Vermont and was raised & educated in Greenfield, MA. Following his high school graduation he served four years with the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service he attended U.Mass. Amherst where he graduated with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering in 1966. For 38 years Ronald was employed by Raytheon Corporation working most of the time on air traffic control systems. He retired in 2005 but continued doing consultant work for another 18 months.

In addition to his wife and son he is survived by three sisters, Jane Beane, Paula Hollins and Judy Powers who just found him last summer after 66 years apart.

Being a talented handyman he was able to do most of the upkeep on his beloved home and was always quick to lend a hand to his neighbors. He was even able to build some of the home furniture to go with the antique furnishings he enjoyed acquiring.

His funeral will take place on Thursday, June 28 at 11:am in the Watson Colonial Funeral Home, 24 Congress St. Milford. Burial, with military honors will be on Friday, June 29 at 11:30 am in North Amherst Cemetery, East Pleasant St, Amherst, MA. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 27 from 4 to 7:pm in the funeral home.
